Bohemian Black Girl was born during the COVID-19 pandemic... but not really. Bohemian Black Girl was born in the summer... over 50 years ago... in Inglewood, California. Bohemian Black Girl discovered herself during the COVID-19 pandemic.
In all the alone and quiet time we experienced during the lock-down, I was re-introduced to the girl in me. The girl who was teased at school because she smiled too much. The girl who loved finger painting, the girl who made up stories even before she could write, the girl who drew pretty dresses on stick figures. Bohemian Black Girl is me... forming my sense of self during the "Black is Beautiful," "Peace and Love," tie dye, cornrows with beads, and bell bottoms time of the glorious 70's. Bohemian Black Girl is not a description of my customer... unless it is, which is great, too. This collection is for anyone who enjoys the creative, sometimes nostalgic, sometimes minimalist, sometimes over the top, a little quirky and definitely cool. It's you... this collection is for you. |
